National Careers Service

The National Careers Service provides information, advice and guidance to help you make decisions on learning, training and work opportunities.
The service offers confidential and impartial advice. This is supported by qualified careers advisers.

Advice is available online, over the phone (0800 100 900), and face-to-face.

It is also possible to speak on the phone to a bi-lingual adviser in Farsi, French, Gujarati, Polish, Punjabi, Somali, Sylheti, or Urdu. Check for the phone numbers here.
The website includes helpful advice on careers and learning, CVs, interviews and job profiles. You can also find information about courses and do a Skills Health Check.


CTP Nottingham Jobshop is held every Friday afternoon at the centre. Please come and visit and get help with Writing your CV; Application forms; Interview techniques. Qualified guidance workers can help you look at your work and career options, and make you aware of training and work experience opportunities. Jobshops and Job Boards are available at all our centres so please get in touch with your centre for further advice.
