Level 3 Diploma in Make-up Artistry Courses

Our Diploma in Make-up Artistry qualification is intended for anyone looking to develop their make-up artistry skills, customer service, health and safety and client care and communication to advance their career in make-up artistry in a range of sectors, including self-employment, photography, fashion and retail make-up artists. This qualification provides the essential knowledge and understanding you need to help start your career as a make-up artist, so if you have a passion for make-up, this is the perfect course.

At a glance

The qualification is delivered in face-to-face classes with a mixture of theory and practical elements.  There will be expert demonstrations of practical skills which learners will then practise in class with tutors on hand to guide and support.  Further practise and study will be required at home to perfect skills and techniques.  Learners will be expected to attend a minimum of one session each week in the centre, but individual timetables will be agreed with your tutor at induction.

  • Apply make-up
  • Instruction on make-up application
  • Promote products and services to clients in a salon
  • Camouflage make-up
  • Media make-up
  • Design and apply face and body art
  • Fashion and photographic make-up
  • Client care and communication in beauty-related industries
  • Monitor and maintain health and safety practice in the salon
  • Display stock to promote sales in a salon
These units will be assessed through a mixture of practical assessments, written assignments and online exams.  Learners will be expected to build a portfolio of evidence throughout their programme, including photographs of their looks and designs.

  • Anatomy and physiology
 

Entry Criteria
