National Careers Service

The National Careers Service provides information, advice and guidance to help you make decisions on learning, training and work opportunities.
The service offers confidential and impartial advice. This is supported by qualified careers advisers.

Advice is available online, over the phone (0800 100 900), and face-to-face.

It is also possible to speak on the phone to a bi-lingual adviser in Farsi, French, Gujarati, Polish, Punjabi, Somali, Sylheti, or Urdu. Check for the phone numbers here.
The website includes helpful advice on careers and learning, CVs, interviews and job profiles. You can also find information about courses and do a Skills Health Check.


Jobshops

Leeds City Council's Jobshops can help you with: Job searching; Writing your CV; Application forms; Interview techniques. Qualified guidance workers can help you look at your work and career options, and make you aware of training and work experience opportunities.

Connexions Leeds -
The Connexions Service offers information, advice and guidance on careers, learning and personal matters to young people aged from 13 to19 years in Leeds. Services for young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities are offered up to 25 years of age.

The Connexions Service can help with careers advice, finding work, interview skills, further learning, benefits, housing, accessing support with health matters and teenage pregnancy and parenting.
